In 2010, Haiti was hit by a terrible earthquake and are still facing a serious humanitarian crisis. It was estimated that there were 220,000 deaths and over 300,000 injured. Currently there is a a 70% unemployment rate and over 2/3 of the population live with $1.50/day. It was through this need that we decided to build Oasis Home for Kids.

This past summer, Hurricane Matthew hit, luckily no one was hurt. But 60% of our brand new roof was destroyed. The playing room, the school roof and the 2nd and 3rd levels were completely destroyed. Furthermore, our staff member’s, Volvick, is seriously damages and flooded. We expect to fix more than a dozen of houses suffering damage like this.  Aside from this damage we urgently need to replace, the solar system, the entrance gate, windows, doors, and the well.
